Siloam Hospital was established in 1977 by a Ghanaian Couple Dr Michael Kofi Kusi, a German trained Surgeon Urologist and his wife, a British and Scottish trained Nurse- Midwife Mrs Elizabeth Adobea Kusi, nee Aklaku.

This was done completely upon their own initiative with support from friends, to a large extent German friends.

At the time they started out with two Ward Assistants and one Laboratory Technician.

Now the hospital has a staff Strength of many Workers.

The vision and Mission of Siloam Hospital are inspired by the Biblical pool of Siloam, one of Jerusalem’s main sources of water. The pool of Siloam was a secure source of cool gentle flowing water and a place where people were sent for healing.
